Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our CNC machining services, lead times, and quality.
What tolerances can you hold?
Standard tolerances of ±0.05 mm are routine. We routinely hold ±0.025 mm on critical features and can reach ±0.005 mm on precision machined components in aluminum and steel. Tight-tolerance features are quoted individually based on geometry and material.
What is your typical lead time?
Prototype parts ship in 3-5 business days after order confirmation. Production orders typically run 2-4 weeks depending on quantity and complexity. Expedited 24-48 hour service is available for urgent projects.
Do you have a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
No minimum for prototypes — we happily machine single pieces for design validation. For production runs we typically start at 50 pieces to optimize setup costs.
Which file formats do you accept?
STEP (.stp / .step), IGES (.igs), Parasolid (.x_t), SolidWorks (.sldprt), and 2D drawings in PDF or DXF. We can also work from sketches or 3D PDFs if you don’t have CAD files.
What materials do you work with?
Aluminum (6061, 7075, 2024, 5052), stainless steel (304, 316, 303, 17-4 PH), steel (1018, 1045, 4140, A36), brass, copper, titanium (Grade 2 & 5), engineering plastics (PEEK, Delrin, PTFE, nylon, polycarbonate).
Do you provide material certificates?
Yes. Mill test certificates (MTC) are available for all metal orders at no extra charge, documenting chemical composition and mechanical properties.
What surface finishes are available?
As-machined (Ra 1.6-3.2 µm), bead blasting, tumbling, anodizing (Type II & III hardcoat in clear, black, blue, red, gold, custom), powder coating, zinc plating, electroless nickel, passivation, laser engraving.
Do you offer design-for-manufacturing (DFM) feedback?
Yes — free of charge. Send us your 3D model and we’ll suggest tolerance adjustments, machining-friendly feature changes, and cost-saving material substitutions within 24 hours.
What inspection reports do you provide?
Standard: dimensional inspection report. Optional: First Article Inspection Report (AS9102 / PPAP), CMM raw data, material certificates, surface roughness measurements, photographs of every part.
What payment methods do you accept?
Wire transfer (T/T), PayPal for small orders, and L/C for larger volume orders. New customers typically pay 50% deposit with order, 50% before shipment.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide via DHL, FedEx, UPS, and freight forwarders. We handle commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
Are you ISO certified?
Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. Our processes are also aligned with AS9100 for aerospace and IATF 16949 for automotive.
